DESCRIPTION SITE :

Ranger was a J-Class yacht that commissioned by Harold Vanderbilt solely for the purpose of defending the America's Cup. She was built with rigging, mainsail, and winches from Rainbow. In 1937 she became a successful defender of the Cup by destroying the competition with a combination of speed and Vanderbilt's skill. From the Edwin Levick Collection.
