Olin Stephens II and Mrs. Vanderbilt on the deck of Ranger, a new J-class yacht built soley for the America's Cup races. In order to cut costs down on the construction of Ranger, Vanderbilt used the mainsail, rigging and winches from Rainbow before selling the 1934 champion to Chandler Hovey.
