DESCRIPTION SITE :

Ranger (middle) was commissioned by Harold Vanderbilt solely for the purpose of defending the America's Cup in the 1937 races. Bystander (left) was the yacht's tender while in the harbor, and Vara (right) was the home of Ranger's afterguard during the racing season.
