A photo from the fourth race of the 1937 America's Cup race. Ranger is in the foreground and Endeavour II is in the background. At the start of the race Endeavour II showed a faster start; however, she could never match Ranger's overall speed or the skill of Vanderbilt's leadership. From the Edwin Levick Collection.
