DESCRIPTION SITE :

8x10 gelatin silver print from 8x10 glass plate negative taken by James Burton some time circa 1900. Image of schooner IDLER at sea. Visible in image: starboard side view of two masted schooner with main and foresails, both topsails,, fisherman's staysail, fore staysail, jib and flying jib raised, one man forward, two people aft by the wheel, pennant flying from mainmast, flag from mainsail, steamship in background. Written on back: "Idler / B127" and embossed in lower right corner: "MORRIS ROSENFELD / N.Y.".
