4x5 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons in 1937. Image of 127.5' W. Starling Burgess designed, Herreshoff built J class sloop RAINBOW (built 1934 in Bristol, R.I.), 135' Olin Stephens designed, Bath Iron Works built J class sloop RANGER (built 1937 in Bath, Me.), and 130' Charles E. Nicholson designed, Camper & Nicholson Yard built J class cutter ENDEAVOUR (built 1934 in Gosport, England) in the fog off Buzzard's Bay. Visible in image: foggy port beam view of RAINBOW, RANGER and ENDEAVOUR on starboard close reaches under marconi-rigged mainsails, staysails and jibs, an four unidentified sloop is almost lost in the fog.
