4x5 safety negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons on June 4, 1937. Image of 135' Bath Iron Works J class sloop RANGER (built 1937 in Bath, Me.) off Rhode Island coast. Visible in image: cropped port beam view of RANGER on starboard beam reach under mainsail, staysail and double-sheeted jib, sloop heeled over, rail to water, bow spray, crew lying on windward side, while skipper holds onto wheel. Shoreline in background.
