This presentation half-model of the schooner America bears an original ivory plaque reading: 'SCHOONER YACHT AMERICA / Scale 1/4' = 1 foot / TO W.G.J. FROM G.L.W.'. The glazing is original and the model is mounted on a mahogany backboard. This model was presented by the most eminent British yacht designer; George L. Watson to helmsman William G. Jameson in 1903.
