The yacht Thistle - Photographer: James Valentine - 1887 - The yacht THISTLE was built by D & W Henderson Ltd Glasgow, as yard No 330 in 1887. She was also known as COMET (1896), and METEOR (1891). She was owned by Royal Clyde Yacht Club members and sold in 1891 to the Kaiser of Germany before transfer in 1896 to the Imperial German Navy. - P1900 - © McLean Museum and Art Gallery, Greenock.
