4 x 5 safety negative taken of an illustration by Worden G. Wood (dated: 1902), copied by Rosenfeld and Sons, circa 1964. Illustration depicts the cutters GALATEA and MAYFLOWER under sail during the first race of the America's Cup Races, September 7, 1886. Port bow view of both vessels, with the spectator fleet illustrated in the background. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "Galatea + Mayflower / first Race / Sept 7-1886".
