By 1932, the era of the 'Big Class' yachts was drawing to a close as the American 'J' Class rule was gradually introduced. Led by Astra, the leading yachts of the time reduced their canvas sizes to bring themselves also into line with the new American rules. This created a highly competitive 'Big Class' season's racing, from which this subject depicts Astra at Solent Fortnight.
