NOTES: In a letter to John Sands on 4/11/83, Mr. Bond says "The watercolor "Challenger View" which you purchased from Grand Central Galleries in 1980 was painted by me in that year. It represents the "J" class sloop of 76' rating. This is "Enterprise" skippered by Harold S. Vanderbilt. Presumably the "Challenger" of "Challenger's View" is Sir Thomas Lipton on Shamrock V.--the year 1930."
