On the skipper’s command, the man kneeling at left will let go the leewurd sheet of the staysail; then the three men at far right will use bars to tum the small winch sheeting the sail home on the opposite side. Meanwhile four more men (standing. left rear) will use two similar winches to tighten the running backstays to give the mast support from what will then be the windward side.
