"SHAMROCK V." IN THE AZORES: ON HER WAY TO AMERICA, TO CONTEST FOR THE "AMERICA'S" CUP.
It was announced on July 31 that Sir Thomas Lipton's “Shamrock V.” had made the Azores, thus concluding the first part of her Atlantic crossing. She was expected to arrive in New London on August 14 or 15. Meanwhile, the American sloops, including the "Enterprise" and the "Weetamoe", are making preparations for the contest.
