"SHAMROCK V REACHES AMERICAN SHORES TO PREPARE FOR CHALLENGE RACE"
"NEW LONDON, CONN. A slim green racing yacht flying the pennant of the Royal Ulster Yacht Club, dropped anchor in the mouth of the Thames, her trim rigging glissening in the warm glow of a perfect summer sunset. It was the Shamrock V, with which Sir Thomas Lipton, the genial British sporman, will challenge once more for the historic America's Cup. Photos shows a close-up of the crew of the Shamrock as they lined the rail when she was being towed up the Thames. NOTES AMERICA-SCOOP : LICENCE : Autorisation en cours |
