TASK OF PREPARING THE SHAMROCK GETS UNDER WAY
'Sails, masts and spars for Sir Thomas Lipton's Shamrock shown being transferred from convoy Erin in the Killarney, at New London, Conn...August 14th. The Erin accompanied Britain's America's Cup challenger across the Atlantic, and the Killarney is an excursion boat which has been fitted up for use of the crew of the Shamrock while it is in America. About 10 days' preparation will be necessary before the Shamrock will be able to engage in trial races.
