Image of the last time that all five of the J Class sloops were together in history that year as seen undersail at the start of the J Class race during the New York Yacht Club Cruise on Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. From left to right: port beam view of RAINBOW (J/4), ENDEAVOUR (J/K4), RANGER (J/5), ENDEAVOUR II (J/K6) and YANKEE (J/US2) on starboard close reach. Information on vessels: 127.5' W. Starling Burgess designed, Herreshoff built J class sloop RAINBOW (built 1934 in Bristol, R.I.), 130' Charles E. Nicholson designed, Camper & Nicholson Yard built J class cutter ENDEAVOUR (built 1934 in Gosport, England), 135' Olin Stephens designed, Bath Iron Works built J class sloop RANGER (built 1937 in Bath, Me.), 128.5' Camper & Nicholson J class sloop ENDEAVOUR II (built 1936 in Gosport, England) and 126' Paine, Belknap & Skene designed, George Lawley & Son Corp. built J Class sloop YANKEE (built 1930 in Neponset, Mass.).
