DESCRIPTION SITE :

Centerboard sloop, built by a syndicate (General Charles J. Paine and J. Malcom Forbes), specifically for the defense of the America's Cup. Designed by Edward Burgess, launched at Boston, 1885. Solid poplar hull, planked over and authentically painted, fittings include two fitted boats, one each on davits on her port and starboard. Carries all appropriate deck gear, and is authentically rigged.
