She is known with a comfortable lead over Countess of Dufferin, the challenger from Canada. Pictured at the Sandy Hook lightship in the second race, Madelaine is closely pursued by the old America, racing unofficially, and, finally, bu the outclassed Countess, which eventually lost by a corrected time of 27.14 minutes..
