NOTES AMERICA-SCOOP :

NO LUCK FOR THE VIGILANT; THE BRITANNIA BEAT HER BADLY IN A DRIFTING MATCH.
Capt. Haff Got the Best of the Start in Yesterday's Race on the Clyde, but the Flukey Winds Seemed to Combine Against the Yankee Boat

GLASGOW, July 9 -- To American onlookers, the race, if it may be dignified by that name, between the centreboarder Vigilant and the cutter Britannia, for a prize of L75, suggested one of the old-fashioned flukes aver the old inside course of the New-York Yacht Club. Under the rules of American yacht racing, to-day's unsatisfactory match would have been sailed over again.
