During the winter of 1551-2 the new owner of the America, Lord de Blaquiere, cruised aboard the yacht in the Mediterranean. This contemporary lithograph from Hunt's Yachting Magazine of September 1852 shows the America battling a gale off Valetta, Malta, on February 2, 1852.
