DESCRIPTION SITE :

Mayflower was a wooden centerboard sloop designed by Ed. Burgess and built by Lawley in 1886 as a successful defender in that year's America's Cup races. Launched May 6, 1886. LOA 100ft, LWL 85-7ft. This photo was taken on the day of the annual regatta of the Eastern Yacht Club. Mayflower was beaten by Puritan and Priscilla.
