Defender vs Valkyrie III 1895 is from The Paintings of the America's Cup series. The print features an historic moment at the beginning of the second race. Defender, New York Yacht Club is portrayed with her top mast leaning back towards her port side. Valkyrie III, owned by the notorious Earl of Dunraven, bears away having carried away a stay with the end of her boom at the start of the race. Valkyrie III was immediately disqualified.
