DemersDVDonald Demers was born in 1956 in Lunenburg, Massachusetts. He spent his summers near Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and crewed about many schooners and other craft that led to his first hand experience to transfer to painting.

He continued his education at the School of Worcester Art Museum and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts.

He is a fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists and has won a record number 9 awards at the Mystic International Marine Exhibition, Mystic, Connecticut. His illustrations have been recognized four times by the Museum of American Illustration in their national competition.

Mr. Demers has participated in many major shows from Newport News, Virginia; Maryland Historical, Baltimore, MD; Mystic, Connecticut; Bath Maine Maritime Museum; Cape Museum of Fine Arts, Dennis, MA; Riverfront Arts Center, Wilmington, Delaware; Laguna Beach Plein Air Painters Invitational, St. Botolph Club, Boston, among many others.
